MASTER GARDENERS OFFER SEED-STARTING AND SEED-SAVING WORKSHOPS

The Sandoval County Seed Library, a Sandoval County Master Gardeners project, is hosting two workshops on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10am – 2pm at the Esther Bone Memorial Library,950 Pinetree Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. The Seed Starting workshop, with Judy Jacobs, Sandoval County Master Gardener Life Member, starts at 10am. The Seed Saving workshop follows at 12pm with Amy Upperman, Sandoval County Master Gardener and Seed Library Co-chair.

The Sandoval County Seed Library offers workshops to encourage local seed saving, which help to ensure a regionally-adapted and genetically diverse seed collection that is self-sustaining.

Both workshops are free and require no pre-registration.

 “SEEDY SATURDAY” PROGRAMS TO BEGIN JAN 13th

The Sandoval County Master Gardeners will be offering “Seedy Saturday” sessions the second Saturday of each month, from January to August 2018 in the lobby of the Loma Colorado Main Library, 755 Loma Colorado Blvd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. A Master Gardener will be at the Seed Library table from 10 am to 1 pm to answer gardening and seed-saving questions.

The dates for Seedy Saturday are: Jan. 13, Feb. 10, Mar. 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14 and Aug. 11.

These sessions are free and require no pre-registration.
