Finish Thinning Fruit Trees

Greetings S2N Volunteers,

We have finished thinning the peach trees at the Lynn Orchard and now need to do the same at the Jacobs Garden Orchard.

If time permits, we will also thin some of the apple trees. The photo above illustrates a Honeycrisp apple cluster that needs to be thinned so that the apples get bigger and the branches are not too heavy with fruit (which can result in breakage).

So, our next sessions will be at the Jacobs Orchard on:
Tuesday, June 6, 2023: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Thursday, June 8, 2023: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

The Jacobs Orchard is located at 109 Stella Lane in Corrales.

Please park in the dirt area just north of the orchard or in front of the greenhouse (where there are a few spaces).

Bring water, hat and gloves.
