The 4 per mil initiative to increase the soil carbon stock by 0.4% (4‰) has been proposed as a win-win for fighting climate change and increasing food security. Is this feasible? This talk will discuss if it is possible to fight climate change by increasing the amount of soil carbon and how this relates to our evolving views of soil carbon. For instance, does humus exist?
