Water Wise Demonstration Garden

When: 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on September 13, September 27, October 11 and October 25, 2023. 

Water Wise Demonstration Garden is a tranquil hidden gem of a park in Rio Rancho. It is nestled between the Esther Bone Library and Veterans Memorial Park at 950 Pine Tree Road. The Garden is a joint effort between Sandoval County Master Gardeners, Rio Rancho Water Conservation Department and the City of Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.

This little piece of landscape paradise shows all new comers to the high desert what types of plant material will grow and bloom. The garden features xeriscape principles, effective drip/bubbler/timer spray irrigation, and the use of mulch to conserve moisture and prevent heat island effects.

For these 2023 Fall events, Master Gardeners, in coordination with the City of Rio Rancho, will work two mornings each month (Sept and Oct) to help maintain the plants, and shrubs in this City Park.
Please sign up, join the fun and make a difference in our community. All Master Gardeners, Interns and Rio Rancho Tree Stewards are invited to participate. The City of Rio Rancho will require a hold-harmless signature on their sign-in sheet after you arrive.
