The Wonderful World of Wasps will be led by Joanie King, Ph.D. NMSU Extension Entomology Specialist & Assistant Professor on March 9, 2023 from 1:00pm-1:45 pm at the Martha Liebert Library, 134 Calle Malinche in Bernalillo.
Wasps are highly diverse and play many ecological roles. There are thousands of species of wasps, and they can either be predators, pollinators, parasites, and/or parasitoids. Although some wasps pack a powerful sting, many are beneficial to ecosystems. In addition, many species are used in biological control of pests.
This presentation will cover these roles and touch on the complexity of wasps. The talk will be 45 minutes with 10-15 minutes Q&A.
