Thinning Fruit Trees — Seed2Need

Greetings S2N Volunteers,

We found some small broken branches at the orchard this week. Looks like we need to do some more thinning. The trees that need more work are located on the east end of the orchard, particularly the peach trees.

The attached picture illustrates an apple cluster that needs to be thinned so that as the apples get bigger the branches are not too heavy with fruit (which could result in breakage).

Our next session will be at the Jacobs orchard on:

• Saturday, July 22nd: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Note: Bring some water, gloves, and a hat.

The Jacobs orchard is located just east of 109 Stella Lane in Corrales. Please park along the street in the dirt area north of the orchard and greenhouse. Thanks…S2N
