Are you interested in wellness, nutrition, good food, and providing service to your community? Come join the Garden2Table team providing recipe demonstrations, cooking tips, and nutrition information at senior centers and other locations in the county. Senior citizens are one of the most at-risk populations and often need help with food. Many seniors are living below the poverty level and struggle to afford all their food needs on a tight and fixed income. Be a part of the solution by providing simple, seasonal, & low cost recipes to seniors linked to local food banks and farmers markets. This summer we will have a demonstration garden at the Health Commons to use for demonstrations at the Health Commons teaching Kitchen.
Expectations: Attend all classes. You will volunteer for a minimum of four recipe demos. Classes are located at the Sandoval County Health Commons, 1500 Idalia Rd, Building B. Cost is $20 (cash) for materials. You will earn Master Gardener outreach hours for your volunteer work.
