September Garden Checklist

  • Sow seeds for native spring wildflowers -cover with ¼ inch playground sand (washed to remove weed seeds)
  • Check irrigation system to ensure water is coming out at expected rate and all lines are clear
  • Keep harvesting the vegetables and bring in the greet tomatoes to pickle or preserve
  • Plant fall containers with cool weather flowers; viola, pansies
  • Chill bulbs in crisper for five weeks before planting to encourage even flowering
