Join us for a Field Day & Picnic to celebrate Earth Day 2024. The Agricultural Science Center in Los Lunas is one of NMSU’s 12 state-wide Science Centers where agricultural research is conducted. Founded in 1957, on 204 acres this farm conducts research on alfalfa, corn, sorghum, grapes, chili and other vegetables. During our visit extensive orchards of apple, peach, cherry, quince, and persimmon will be in glorious, full bloom!

picnicBring a picnic lunch and take advantage of this opportunity to celebrate the completion the coursework portion of the Master Gardner training.

Host:

Marisa Thompson PhD, horticultural specialist, will be our guide. You already know Dr. Thompson from her lectures on Basic Botany, Tree Selection, and the Gardening Challenges panel discussion.

1036 Miller Road, Los Lunas NM
From Albuquerque via I-25, take the SR 6 Los Lunas exit. Drive east to SR 314. Turn right (South). Watch for Miller Road in 3 miles, turn right. The NMSU Agricultural Science Center is one mile on the right. For a scenic alternative you can follow Isleta Blvd (SR 314) South through Los Lunas.
