Get an up-close look at a working compost operation. John Zarola, master composter, will explain how compositing works and how it supports the health of the soil. A significant amount of the compost used by Family Practice Garden is produced on-site. This is the third year for this compost operation. The Family Practice Garden is farmed by Master Gardeners and the majority of the harvest is donated to needy families.

John Zarola has been a master composter for 13 years and a master gardener for 15 years. He was just honored as a Life Member by the Sandoval Extension Master Gardeners. View his Family Practice Garden Bonus Video on Composting in the Soils Module in Canvas. John designed and supervised the construction of this compost area. Barbara Boyd and Linda Walsh, co-chairs of the Family Practice Garden, will be on hand to answer questions.

Saturday, January 20th at 10am.

Just south of the Growers Market on Corrales Road. Look for the Corrales Family Practice sign on the West side of the road (see map below)
