Physical Description:Ā  Mounds of willowy leaves and wiry stems toppedĀ  by star-shaped, white to light blue flowers in spring.Ā  Can spread by root stolons.

Care and Maintenance:Ā  Avoid overwatering. Dies back to hardy roots inĀ  winter. Difficult to locate seed or plant source.

Gardener’s notes:Ā  Several attractive native species,Ā  including A. longiflora, A. palmeri, A. ciliata and sand-loving A. arenaria.
